Introduction
Desktop Virtualisation offers a flexible, secure and easy to manage alternative to existing desktop infrastructure, and can significantly reduce maintenance and support costs. The benefits speak for themselves:
- Instant and simpler provisioning of new desktops
- Reduced downtime in the event of server or client hardware failures
- Lower cost of deploying new applications
- Simplified desktop management
- Robust desktop image management capabilities
- Longer refresh cycle for client desktop infrastructure
- Quicker response times to business needs
- Secure remote access to an enterprise desktop environment
- Extended business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities to the desktop
However, whilst desktop virtualisation is on the minds of many IT decision makers concerns about complexity, cost, security, human issues, monitoring and management issues, still abound. IT executives who are looking to discover if they can achieve real benefits from desktop virtualisation, find it increasingly difficult to get unbiased and clear information. This one-day event plans to fill that need.
The aim of the forum
